Duncan Creek Presbyterian, organized around 1764 by John Duncan, Joseph Adair, Andrew McCrory, Thomas Erving, and William Hannah, is believed to be the oldest Presbyterian Church in Laurens County. It is said that a service was held in the location as early as 1751, when the land was still technically in Cherokee territory.
